For the best view in all of Hanoi, one must go to the Sofitel Plaza’s Summit Bar. Located on the 20th floor of the hotel, it offers breathtaking views of the city. Because of the pollution in Hanoi, it might be hard to actually see the sunset, but we were lucky that night and had a clear sky to see the sun in its full glory. There was even a lightning storm in the distance, and the half moon was clearly visible above. It was epic.
We decided to go because it was our one year anniversary, and I really wanted to start the night off with a glass of Prosecco with a view. Yes, the prices were a bit steep (15US for a glass of bubbly), but drinks were served with some light tapas, and the view made it totally worth it.
Dom and I leave Hanoi this Friday, so it really was a perfect way to say goodbye. I had no idea that Hanoi had a skyline like this! And the lake was just stunning with the sun reflecting on the water, and the boats sparkling on the surface.
I can’t say we are sad to leave Hanoi, but we are thankful for the time we had here. Vietnam is truly a colorful and vibrant country. It has lots to offer for the traveler, but for long term living we just didn’t see the appeal.
Now, on to Taiwan!
